Mixed Media Encaustics 

These images are composed from numerous sources, merging textures from vintage glass plates + tintypes with original photos and abstract paintings. The final image is printed onto various substrates such as linen, old maps, mulberry paper or archival fine art paper then adhered to a panel. The surfaces are further distressed with oil, wax, inks + charcoal to integrate the mediums and to add texture. My desire is to have the viewer feel transported to a place that seems familiar, yet timeless and dreamlike.   ~ Stephanie Dalton 2017
